When people go to buy invoices, what is the probability that they will buy a watermelon at the same place?
Since I moved to Lanyang last year, almost all the places selling invoices here are at the Farmers’ Association, so I can only buy them there.
This morning on my way back from a maintenance job, I happened to pass by a farmers' association that sold invoices differently than usual. I was supposed to issue invoices to customers, so I stopped by to buy one.
After parking the car, I found that they had placed a large pile of agricultural products at the door, extending all the way inside, which was really amazing.
While buying the invoice, I chatted with the bank clerk and asked him what color the flesh of the watermelons on the ground was.
Because it looks bigger than yellow small apples, but smaller than big red watermelons, and whether it has a crisp or crunchy texture, and whether it tastes good, etc.
As long as you remain curious and behave politely, all the staff in the store will help you answer your questions, and you will immediately get the yellow meat and crisp taste.
It just so happened that an older sister who came in later than me to do her business heard our conversation and then replied to me asking what kind of watermelon that was and so on and so forth, then walked over and started picking one.
I can only say that the way this lady selected watermelons, patting and hitting them, looked very professional. Of course I took the opportunity and immediately asked her to help me pick one on the spot.
After the elder sister had touched and knocked over almost all of them, she picked one up and gave it to me, telling me that it was a male melon. All that came to my mind was… only three words: “Lin Gong melon”!
Then the elder sister explained to me that you should look at the navel at the bottom of the watermelon. The one with a small circle is a male watermelon, and the one with a big circle is a female watermelon, and that male watermelons are sweeter, blah blah.
I only remember the biology class I took when I was a child. Watermelon flowers are monoecious, that is, the same plant can grow male and female flowers. The male flowers mainly provide pollen, while the female flowers bear fruit.
In other words, all the watermelons you see are the fruits of female flowers, and there is no distinction between male and female.
But the elder sister taught me very seriously, and helped me pick out delicious and juicy watermelons for me. Of course, I pretended to be very serious in learning, waiting for her to help me find the most delicious one.
After thanking the elder sister, I paid the bill and left the farmers' association. I put the big watermelon under the passenger seat so that it would be easy to take when I got out of the car, and then drove all the way home.
I can only say that I am really an ignorant urbanite. I didn't know to keep the watermelon in place, and as the road was bumpy, the watermelon rolled around on my car, and then silently cracked. I discovered this when I was halfway through the drive and suddenly smelled bursts of watermelon aroma.
I was wondering how it could be so powerful. I had just bought a watermelon and put it in the car. Soon there was a sweet smell of watermelon, so I thought it must be very powerful. But it turned out to be slowly cracked as it was bumped around!

Fortunately, not too much juice came out of it. I had to deal with it immediately when I got home. After cutting it open, I found that the peel of this variety of watermelon was super thin. No wonder it cracked with just a slight bump.
Do you think it tastes good? It is quite refreshing and crispy! It is suitable for people who don’t like too sweet taste.
I purchased it at the Farmers' Association in Erjie. If you want to give it a try, you can go around and buy some. A large one is only two hundred.
Every time I pass the second knot, I will think of Jiang Hui, and then when I see the fifth knot, I wonder if there is a big knot or some other knot!
I can only say that middle-aged men are really boring!
