I got my first cat as a pet. I remember it was on January 27, 2009. I happened to go back to my hometown, Dounan, Yunlin, for Chinese New Year. The little kid from the opposite side of the street said that she brought it back from the roadside. It was about two months old and looked very dirty. I guess it was born in November 2008 and was a Scorpio.

When I saw them, they were feeding Him with milk. I asked them how they were going to feed Him, and they said they could buy milk for Him together.
I also asked, since it’s so cold in winter, can I take it back to your home at night? She replied that her parents would definitely not agree.
I said it was so cold at night and if we couldn't give it a warm place to nest, it would be very pitiful and in danger.
Then I washed him and brought him back to Taipei to start my life as a cat slave.
He is a very gentle and caring child. I have rarely seen him angry in my life. He is not afraid of any other pets and remains calm even when a dog approaches him.
The dogs it meets are also very curious and will keep sniffing it, but if those dogs keep licking it, it might get angry because the structure of a dog's tongue is different from that of a cat's, and there are no barbs on the tongue coating. Licking it all the time will only leave smelly saliva.
Just because of his super calm and fearless personality, and because he looks super cute, I used the old-fashioned naming method of Wangshi, Wangyao, and the vegetable market, hoping that he can grow up safely until old age, so I named him Ah Ben!
Later, we adopted another kitten to grow up with him. The two kittens from the same litter, Xiaotian and Shasha, were also adopted in the same way. Tiantian, Shasha and Benben are collectively called the three kittens [Tiansha no Ben].

A-Ben has been with me for many years and we have moved many times. He has always been a great spiritual support and spiritual pillar for me. Especially the guests love him very much, which makes him and me feel full of love.

Although people always say that nine out of ten orange cats are fat, when he was about ten years old, he unfortunately suffered from the chronic disease of hyperthyroidism, so he was destined to be the only orange cat that was not fat in this life.
Since hyperthyroidism is a chronic disease, especially since the cat was over seven years old at the time, surgical removal was not recommended. Instead, it was controlled by taking medication every day for the rest of his life. However, as the saying goes, "all medicines are poisonous", as the cat got older, some complications developed silently.
He experienced two bouts of acute pancreatitis and luckily was able to recover with emergency treatment. So, in addition to hyperthyroidism medicine, our daily medicines now include a cat pancreas treasure and of course countless other health products.
Ever since Xiaotian and Shasha left, Aben has gradually lost his appetite. After all, the families of the two little friends who used to accompany him chasing fish and licking his fur every day are no longer with him.
Because of his regular medications, he needs to be fed once in the morning and once in the evening, otherwise his life will be in danger. He has always had a poor appetite, so I need to help him make up for the insufficient calories he eats every day. I need to accompany him for a long time, pay attention to him, and help him with feeding to make up for at least the minimum calories he needs every day.
Everyone who knows me knows that I used to travel quite often, so they wondered why I hadn't been abroad in recent years. During this time, many people suggested that I just put it in a cat hotel, or let someone take care of it for a day or two, and then I could leave and go wherever I wanted.
But people who have never met this type of pet will definitely not know this kind of thing. It is really not something that an ordinary cat owner can easily take care of, so I can't leave it for more than a day.
Usually, no matter where I go or how far I go, it will take me about half a day at most to get back, because there is a little cutie waiting for me at home.
Everyone who knows Aben must know that no matter where I go, he will follow me. So those who don’t care about pets and say that he can be easily taken care of will definitely be scolded by me, because they don’t know what care means at all. They think that as long as they put food in front of him, it will be fine. But it would be great if things were really that simple.
Fortunately, I didn’t let Him live in Okinawa at that time, otherwise He might have left me long ago!
Two nights ago, Ah Ben suddenly felt weak in the back of his legs and asked me if the doctor I used to see regularly in Taipei was there. It turned out that she was going abroad for further studies the next week and had no job, so I had to take her there early the next morning. I had previously asked her to recommend her to a senior student in Yilan.
I did various blood tests and X-rays. Because my red and white blood cells were extremely abnormal, even though I had received a hematopoietic injection, my hematopoiesis did not recover so quickly. Although the index shown did not reach the severe anemia data indicated in medical textbooks, she still suggested that I should have a blood transfusion immediately. She also recommended a 24-hour hospital that she trusted the most. She also said that we were friends from the same school, so the test data could be provided quickly and easily.
Because of the previous example of Xiaotian who passed away during a blood transfusion, I thought about it and decided to take him home first, and then give the test data to the original doctor to help me make a judgment. However, I saw that Ah Ben’s hind legs were always weak, and he kept walking around to drink water and go to the toilet, and he also had to jump onto the bed to find me to get into the quilt. He was in a very difficult situation the whole time.
The original doctor said that the hospital recommended by her senior was very good, so I contacted them immediately and asked the senior doctor to contact her junior, who happened to be the doctor on duty in the 24-hour emergency room.
The receptionist said she would go ask the doctor if there was any bed available and call me back later. But how could I possibly wait for her to call back? Of course I grabbed the car keys and drove straight back to Taipei. While I was driving, the hospital called me and said they had a bed and were willing to admit me, and that I could go over for a blood transfusion.
Then I spent about an hour taking the provincial road from Luodong to Toucheng without traffic jams, and then took the interchange to Zhongshan District. Although there was a small traffic jam on the highway and the speed in the Snow Tunnel was only about 40 kilometers per hour, fortunately the provincial road saved me a lot of time.
After arriving at the hospital, the doctor asked me in detail about my usual medications and looked at the examination report in Yilan that morning. He told me that if I received a blood transfusion, I would most likely die, but if I didn’t receive a blood transfusion, I would definitely die. If he went into shock, I asked me whether I wanted emergency treatment. Facing my son who was like a family member to me, of course I would save him if I could!
The doctor said that I can be discharged from the hospital after just one day of blood transfusion. If I really recover, I can take me back to Yilan and slowly adjust other subsequent complications. It was about nine o'clock from the time the blood bag was called to the formal blood transfusion. The blood transfusion process took about 6 to 8 hours, plus the follow-up observation period. If there is no problem, I can be discharged from the hospital at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning.
After Ah Ben started the blood transfusion by inserting the needle, I stayed with him for about half an hour and then left to let the medical staff take care of him. I stayed in Taipei for one night, praying that the hospital would not call me. As long as there was no call, it was a good thing and there was no allergic reaction.
I left home at 10:30 in the morning and drove about 20 minutes to pick up Ah Ben. There was a little traffic on the road on Sunday. Shortly after 11 o'clock, I received a call from the doctor. I said I would be there in six minutes. The doctor said I would talk to him when I got there.
Ever since I received this call, I felt that something was wrong. After arriving at the hospital, the doctor told me that everything was normal during the blood transfusion last night and that I seemed to be better after the transfusion. However, my blood pressure suddenly dropped very low just now, so I should be mentally prepared.
The doctor said that if other emergency treatments were performed, the patient might miraculously get better, and the duration would probably be only 15-20%. But I know that this is just nice to hear, and if he really gets better, he might have to stay in the hospital. He is already very old, and has been suffering from various chronic diseases for so many years. I think that instead of letting him suffer like that, it would be better to take him home in peace, and let him pass away slowly with me by his side.
During that time, I asked the doctor various medical questions, such as how to make him less painful, whether the brain can perceive pain after shock, whether the brain can know about subsequent muscle twitching, and whether he can be given morphine or opium for pain relief. However, the doctor said that he could not take me away medically, and there was no way for me to keep the needles in place. Discharge from the hospital meant leaving the hospital decisively.
I can understand why the doctor couldn't ask me those questions, after all, they involve medical law, and we were not familiar with each other since it was our first meeting.
I drove Ah Ben home, and luckily he was very good and didn't die halfway. He accompanied me all the way home. As soon as we got home, I immediately took out the high-concentration exosomes and gave him an injection. Because the doctor didn't allow me to leave the needle in, I could only dilute it with Ringer's and inject it directly subcutaneously, hoping that a miracle would happen and his blood pressure would return to normal.
After the drip, I took out the childhood photos of Xiaotian and Shasha and placed them next to him, and started playing a lot of videos of the three kittens when they were young for him to listen to and watch. At first, Ah Ben reacted just by listening to the sounds, and later he tried very hard to look up and watch various videos with me. Fortunately, we took a lot of videos back then, so that he started to breathe rapidly, and finally passed away in my arms, and the videos were still not finished.

Aben is a very well-behaved and caring child. We have always been dependent on each other, supporting each other as we grew up and grew old. Although he kept crying before he left, I know that his body can no longer support him to accompany me. I have told him and he can go without worry. Xiaotian and Shasha will also accompany him and play with him like before. If there is really a chance, we will come back and be my children together.
When its tail started to stand on end and it started to urinate, I knew the time was almost up. After I picked it up and held it in my arms, it kept crying. Then, because of muscle spasms in its legs before dying, it gently scratched my chest a few times, as if to tell me that although it was reluctant to leave, its body was no longer able to be used and it really had to leave me. Then it slowly collapsed in my arms.

Ah stupid! Daddy really, really loves you. You will always be my most beloved son. Xiaotian and Shasha are also my favorite children. I am really lucky and happy to have these three little cuties to accompany me for so many years.
The three of them just went to heaven to reunite before me. I hope that they can live a more exciting and happy life after reincarnation. The cute figures and spirits of the three kittens will always live in my heart.

Aben died on March 23, 2025 at 18:21
